The Most Standard Horsepower In Its Class

The Frontier’s power starts with its standard direct-injection 3.8-liter V-6 engine paired with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission that puts out 310 HP—the most standard horsepower in its class. Advanced 4×4 technology, including a driver-selectable 4WD system and an available electronic locking rear differential, also gives new Frontier models serious off-road ability.

Nissan Frontier Towing Capacities

The 2022 Frontier gives you a choice of four Crew Cabs—the S, the SV, the Midnight Edition, and the Frontier Crew Cab Pro-4X. Each is outfitted with the 310 hp 3.8L V6 engine and either a 5-ft or 6-ft bed. When properly equipped, the Crew Cab max towing capacity ranges from 6,290 to 6,620 lbs, and the max payload capacity between 1,020 and 1,460 lbs.

The Frontier also has two King Cab options—the Frontier S with a max towing of up to 6,620 lbs and max payload of up to 1,460 lbs, and the Frontier SV with a max towing of up to 6,720 lbs and max payload of 1,430 lbs.

A Smarter Truck Bed

Nissan engineers created a smarter truck bed with smarter accessories designed to work together to do more with less work. The Frontier’s innovative Utili-Track® Channel system consists of five channels—four that run the length of the pickup bed and one that runs its width.

The system also comes with four heavy-duty forged aluminum cleats that slide into the channels to allow for positioning stable tie-down points from almost anywhere. You can also opt for an available spray-on bedliner with a rugged, non-skid surface adhered directly to your truck bed. It’s fade- and weather-resistant to help protect and prevent rust.

Other innovative accessories available with the Utili-Track system include a Sliding Tool Box that gives you easy on-the-job access, a Sliding Bed Divider that helps to keep your truck bed organized and protect cargo, and a Sliding Bed Extender that expands your cargo-carrying capability.

Tow With Confidence

The available Class IV Tow Hitch Receiver is mounted directly to the frame and features a 7-pin connector for safer towing whether you’ve got an enclosed cargo trailer, a travel trailer, or something else.

You can pair this with the Frontier’s Class III Hitch Ball Mount that’s rated for towing up to 5,000 lbs, or opt for the Frontier’s Weight-distributing Hitch Ball Mount that makes towing loads over 5,000 lbs safer.
